Yes, I Choose To Win is a 501 (c) (3) recognized nonprofit organization as a public charity by the IRS. For financial gifts over $50 and donated services or products exceeding $250, we provide a donation receipt and letter detailing your gift. If you would like to donate to support our organizational mission, you may do so here.

Contact Us if you are able to donate space or a venue, food/meals, journals and pens, workshop supplies, raffle items and more. When donated, we are able to reduce or eliminate costs for attendees, which increases our likelihood of reaching more participants. Below are the following six signature programs we offer through I Choose To Win’s programming:

 

It’s My Time Cohort: A six-week program that meets virtually for 6 weeks to establish connection, initiate introspective reflection, participate in goal setting and action planning, and embark upon a unique personal journey to win in an area of life with weekly milestones to achieve. We offer this program twice annually.

 

Empowered Uth: A 5-week program for youth ages 12-18 focused on building relationships, growing in confidence, overcoming personal challenges, rewriting narratives, developing new skills, speaking up and taking positive action in an area by which they are challenged. We offer this program twice annually. 

 

Winning Workshops: Themed workshops in the area of deeper self-knowledge and leadership development range from self-discovery, rewriting narratives, goal setting, examining choices, managing priorities, amplifying your voice, shifting your perspective, starting a business, launching an initiative, etc. We offer 5 workshops annually. 

 

Winning Retreats: 3 days, 2 nights overnight event featuring an overarching theme with a series of winning workshops included for a dynamic and engaging transformative weekend. We offer 3 retreats annually. 


Winner’s Circle: Belonging to an intimate tight-knit community of women with similar backgrounds, challenges, and aspirations. As both individuals and a collective, we build lives that reflect our desire to win. It’s a safe space that fosters belonging, invites vulnerability and offers peer coaching and counseling. This is a monthly virtual event. 

 

Bold, Brave and Brilliant Awards Gala: Annual fundraising event where we highlight, showcase and feature women who are winning by honoring them with an award, while also securing sponsors to help offset costs for future programming. 

In summary, our approach to power-building and storytelling in this program, events and activities encompasses:

  • Focus: Casting a new vision of students sharing how the introduction of a fresh hope can inform their day-to-day activities and perspectives
  • Self Discovery: Introspective Reflection about what hope means to them
  • Mindset: From victim to victor, we would like to learn how they'd consider changing their mindset to embrace hope 
  • Narrative: Crafting an overcomer’s story including pivotal moments in life to make new choices   
  • Goals: Writing and Setting Goals for their student-driven initiative 
  • Choices: Intentional and Strategic Decision-Making in partnership with their school resources
  • Attitude: Optimism & Hope-filled Thoughts about the future
  • Behavior: Action Planning  and Team building to make it happen
  • Habits: Evaluate Daily activity, routines and responses in pursuit of the action plan 
  • Tribe: Community, Support & Accountability
  • Milestones: Celebrating the small and big wins in each group doing what they believe they can to be the change they'd like to see

Yes, I Choose To Win is thrilled to enter a dialogue about partnering with other organizations, schools and universities, corporations, and community programs, for program-specific or event-specific programs. 

I Choose To Win is on a mission to strengthen the mental wellbeing, resilience, and economic position of BIPOC women and girls by developing them as leaders and paving a pathway toward economic independence.

Our nonprofit is sustained by individual donors, grants and program sponsors. If you would like to make a donation, you may do any of the following:

  • Invite us to apply for a grant. We diligently seek opportunities to apply for foundation or community grants with grant makers whose giving priorities are women and children, youth development, entrepreneurship or economic development, behavioral health and the arts.

Board meetings are scheduled in advance and are intended for board members, volunteers, members-at-large and invited guests. When applicable, we may have event-focused meetings where guests are also invited. If you are interested in staying in the loop, please sign up for our newsletter.

We have an online application process for volunteers. And, once we receive your application, we take inventory of your gifts and areas of strengths to identify the best options for volunteering – either through delivery of professional services, mentoring, program facilitation and much more. Interaction with young women age 18 or less requires government clearances (which must be provided by the applicant). Yes. We accept interns on an as-needed basis. We typically announce or promote when we are searching for interns. We will provide an internship plan to you and your school outlining the expectations for the internship, including number of overall hours, internship scope and necessary in-person meetings. We will work directly with your academic institution for a fair exchange of college credits for your nonprofit experience. The areas we commonly seek interns: Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Social Media and Event Planning.  If interested, apply online. Click to apply for an internship.

As of July 1, 2015, background checks and government clearances are required for interaction with young adults and minors under the age of 18. This takes about a 2-3 week turnaround. Yes, I Choose to Win's organization is designed to reach BIPOC women and girls, however, the content of its programming is relatable to a gender neutral audience. In fact, we have been contracted by several universities and programs to facilitate workshops to gender neutral audiences.

Most of I Choose To Win’s events are open and announced in advance allowing participants weeks notice to sign up. However, there are times when I Choose To Win is invited to participate in closed events hosted by specific organizations for their audience. Our suggestion would be to stay in the loop by signing up for our newsletter and follow our social media sites for the most up-to-date happenings.
