On Friday, October 13th, Melonie Butler was invited to be a guest speaker and panelist offering her lived experience and personal challenges as a female founder of color serving in the nonprofit sector. With a diverse audience of nonprofit executives, grantmakers, funders and community leaders, the panel topic, Unleashing the Power of Diversity; Building Multicultural Leadership for Inclusive Excellence, led by Akshara ViveKananthan drew attendees curious about how to do a better job inviting diverse audiences to their respective organizations, creating an environment of belonging and identifying ways to improve recruitment practices to intentionally include nontraditional vehicles where diverse audiences would gain visibility into these new opportunities.
