Philadelphia, PA – October 14th – I Choose To Win honored a distinguished lineup of women while raising funds for 2024 programming at its 2nd annual Bold, Brave and Brilliant Awards and Fundraising Gala sponsored by MRA Group, held at City Winery on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Honorees included Cherelle Parker, Marilou Watson, Andrea Lawful-Sanders, Dr. Argie Allen-Wilson, Tanya T. Morris, Naima Powell, Maria Majet Reyes, and Angela V. Harris for their unique ways they’ve unleashed their God-given gifts to positively impact the world through their social impact work, entrepreneurial endeavors and community action and advocacy.

The event proved to be an enchanting evening of celebration, recognition, and philanthropy. The diverse array of talents, heartfelt stories, and enthusiastic supporters created a vibrant space filled with remarkable joy and enthusiastic hope. The success of the evening was in no small part due to the terrific trio at the helm — Hostess Melonie Butler, Emcee Kamella Emmanuel and Auctioneer Natalie Francis. Their energy, charm, and seamless transitions added an extra layer of magic to the event, setting the tone for an incredible night.

Adding a symphony of creativity to the night, Black Canvas Philly, an all-female Neo-Soul group, captivated the audience with their soulful melodies and dynamic stage presence. To complement the musical enchantment, a 360-degree photo booth provided an immersive experience, capturing moments of joy and camaraderie. The raffle and silent auction stations kept attendees busy with a myriad of opportunities to support the gala’s mission.

As the evening unfolded, it became evident that the heart and soul of the gala were the attendees themselves. Everyone arrived decked out in their most extravagant and elegant purple ensemble and their accompanying masquerade mask was a sight to behold. Their presence, support, and passion fueled the mission of the event, reflecting a shared commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Each person present played a key role in the success of the gala. During the evening, several BIPOC women business owners were presented with sashes with our ‘In Life, I Win’ campaign. A special thank you to Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors MRA Group, Healthspark Foundation, IMC Construction, Fulton Bank, AmeriHealth Caritas, LIUNA! Laborers’ District Council of PA, DC, MD, VA, & Redeemer Health and the many generous donors, whose support made this year’s impact felt.

The 2023 Bold, Brave, and Brilliant Gala has undoubtedly left a lasting impression, echoing the sentiment that when a community of BIPOC women comes together with boldness, bravery, and brilliance, extraordinary things happen. To view photos from the event, CLICK HERE. See you next year!
