Inviting the community to join via email and social media, the community gathered one last time
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. –I Choose To Win’s board of directors opened a one-day community zoom on August 26, 2026 for the community members to virtually gather one last time before the anticipated September 30th dissolution date. Past participants, honorees, program partners and legacy award recipients joined the 1.5 hour zoom to learn the events leading up to the decision to dissolve.
Board of Directors, Kamella Emmanuel, Chair, shared her sentiments about Melonie’s vision and leadership. Phil Butler, Treasurer, offered a story of resilience for the audience to learn how he’s experiencing Melonie’s personal and professional journey.
Founder Melonie Butler shared her personal account of her health challenges, provided updates and invited those on the zoom to ask questions. She rapidly recapped lessons learned from the past 11 years, to share with and empower the audience on the zoom.
Invited to join the call were intended recipients of the legacy contribution awards, financial gifts from I Choose To Win’s remaining cash assets, which will be disbursed to a series of organizations whose missions and audiences align with I Choose To Win. Each organization’s representative had an opportunity to speak and invite the others on the call to learn a little about who they are and how to learn more.
