I Choose To Win Awarded $25,000 Grant to Nurture Philly Youth in Area of Hope-Building

I Choose To Win is proud to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of a $25,000 general operating grant from the Philadelphia City Fund (PCF) through its 2024 Community Fund grant opportunity. This annual funding cycle focuses on child well-being, and we are honored to be among 11 grantee nonprofit organizations out of 315 applications! This grant will be utilized to support the standing up of our new Cultiv8 Hope program recognized for providing out-of-school time (OST) that “nurture healthy minds, bodies, and spirits” of Philadelphia youth in grades 9 through 12.

The Community Fund seeks to address Philadelphia’s greatest areas of need while aligning with the City’s goals to improve the quality of life for all Philadelphians. This year, priority was given to organizations serving youth in areas with the highest need, specifically targeting programs in Priority ZIP Codes, including 19120, 19124, 19132, 19134, 19138, 19139, 19141, and 19144. With 73% of grant funding directed to organizations in these areas, I Choose To Win can continue our mission of empowering youth in Philadelphia through its 2025 Cultiv8 Hope initiative.

This grant opportunity is made possible through the Philadelphia City Fund’s partnership with the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, which allocates a portion of its annual revenues to support community programs.

We are grateful for the support from the Philadelphia City Fund and excited to further our work with the youth in the city and cultivate hope within their generation. This funding will help us continue to provide high-quality programs that empower youth to become confident leaders and achieve their full potential.
