Empowering Future Leaders Through Personal Branding: NAIOP-Drexel

For the third consecutive year, I Choose To Win had the privilege of facilitating the Personal Branding workshop for high school students of color participating in the NAIOP-Drexel Summer Program. This 10-day immersive experience offers students a rare opportunity to explore the commercial real estate industry—connecting them with industry leaders, visiting active projects across the city, and learning about potential career paths within the field. While our time with the students is always meaningful, this year’s session stood out for its depth of engagement and the courage displayed by each participant. The students didn’t just attend—they showed up. They asked thoughtful questions, moved to the front of the room, and leaned into conversations with intention and curiosity. But what left the greatest impact wasn’t just what happened during the session—it was what came after. One by one, students waited to speak, eager to share how the experience opened their eyes and shifted their mindset. Many expressed a desire to continue the conversation beyond the moment, a reminder of just how powerful it can be when young people are given the tools to connect who they are with how they want to be seen. In our Personal Branding session, students begin the important work of learning who they are, how they want to be received, and how their strengths can guide their future. We help them find their voices so they can show up fully, confidently, and unapologetically—as they begin to make a name for themselves. “The students always enjoy your message and energy on establishing your brand…I heard a lot of great feedback on it!” said Dr. Patricia Robak, Clinical Professor of Finance at Drexel University. We are deeply grateful to continue this meaningful partnership with NAIOP Philly and to walk alongside the next generation of leaders as they shape not only their careers, but also their identities.
