Leading with Authenticity: Penn State Abington

We would like to thank Penn State Abington for inviting “I Choose To Win” to facilitate a 5-hour workshop for its President’s Retreat for student leaders. Melonie Butler was joined by speaker, coach and educator, Michael McBride to offer introspective reflection to student leaders – so they may effectively lead their student body with authenticity, strong self-awareness and focus on leaving a positive legacy.  The students’ energy, engagement and connection were incredible. May they bring all of that bundled with focus on bringing forth incredible things at Penn State Abington’s campus. Now, in the words of the event organizers . . . “Thank you for your wonderful and inspirational workshop this weekend at The President’s Retreat. The feedback I have received thus far has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive. You and Michael certainly reached this group of students in a special way and helped them dig deeper into their psyches.  As we spoke, it was amazing to see how many of the male students gravitated (literally!) toward Michael, asking many questions, having conversations during the break and dinner. Your energy and enthusiasm as well as your wisdom opened their eyes to new possibilities including empowering them to leave a legacy at PSU Abington. You and Michael certainly have a gift and, no doubt, you both helped our students learn a little more about themselves as individuals and leaders this weekend.  We will be in touch, but thanks again for providing a valuable addition to the President’s Retreat this weekend.” – Beth, Event Organizer Click here for a few pictures from this awesome event.

I Am She: Social Campaign

I Choose to Win is now introducing I Am She, a social media campaign that allows social followers to see the best in themselves as they more easily find in someone else. “Sometimes we can become so wrapped up in who we ARE NOT that we hinder our growth or subconsciously downplay who we already are,” explains Constance Brown, intern who developed the campaign. “This may cause us to admire or become envious of others, or even depressed because we can’t see the good in ourselves.”  I Am She is designed to help women realize they already have what it takes to be the person they’ve been called to be. Over the next few weeks, I Choose To Win will be challenging followers to take a closer look to see in themselves who they’ve been called to be and learn what they are capable of. There will be some awarded prizes for participants, but the most important prize is (re)gaining self–reassurance by the end of this process.  If you are up for the challenge, connect with us via instagram or facebook? If you would like to take part in this, take the pledge on either social site. Simply “like” the I AM SHE picture and comment I Am She. Thank you for joining us on mission to forge a world where females love again, who they are by design. Don’t forget to encourage all the women you know!  #ichoosetowin #IAmShe #winning #takethepledge

JUST RELEASED: 4TH MAGAZINE ISSUE (SUMMER 2016)

July 18, 2016 – I Choose To Win, a Philadelphia-area nonprofit organization focused on women’s empowerment, released its fourth issue of the #ichoosetowin magazine: a motivational and inspirational publication featuring the stories of everyday women who are winning in life. By the organization’s definition, winning is living out the boldness, braveness and brilliance a woman naturally possesses when unleashing her God-given gifts to positively impact the world. We are women who live out loud and on purpose. The women who identify with I Choose To Win have transitioned in mindset from victim to victor, realizing their personal power and potential for greatness.” – Melonie Butler, Founder of I Choose To Win. The magazine intends to remind women not to settle for a life of monotony and passion-less living, instead, they are encouraged to tap their inner genius, internal compass or sense of purpose in order to fully engage each day. In doing so, they awaken to a life filled with meaning, passion and intentional decision-making on their unique path. The stories serve to the pivotal moment when a choice was made – and the action taken. “We are committed to highlighting, promoting and showcasing women within their respective communities who march to the beat of their own drum while ensuring they positively impact the lives of those around them, ” says Butler. “We want young women everywhere to see themselves as winners. Our goal is to build their esteem, confidence and can-do spirit, so they begin to journey life on purpose in the area of their passion – one where they are fully engaged, inspired and being a blessing to others.” In this summer issue, the magazine features Kinese, Dawn Bizzell, Gabrielle Jordan, Syreeta Martin, Abigail Minett, Emily Mosher, Ebony Smith, Shanae Tizon and bylined articles from intern, Constance Brown. Themes covered in this issue include living beyond your pain, being the game changer in your life, finding power and freedom in your body and investing in your dreams. It also tackles dealing with depression, overcoming victimization/trusting in God, young entrepreneurship and growing through insecurities. Readers should expect to feel both motivated and inspired.
